SPONSOR INFORMATION

Dear Sponsor:

Thank you for your desire to share with others what God has given you through the Cursillo weekend. The most important factor to remember is that your candidate must be able to receive the Eucharist. If there is anything present in their lives that will prevent them receiving the Eucharist, they should not be sponsored for the Cursillo. The Cursillo is a leadership training program for people who will become apostles of Christ. It is an experience of living in a truly Catholic environment. After your candidate leaves the Cursillo, his/her perseverance will depend to a large degree upon your support. your palanca, to, is an important factor both for your candidate's weekend and for his/her perseverance.

An application should be obtained from your Ultreya coordinator and completed by the sponsor and not the candidate. Mail the completed application to the registrar listed at the top of the application at least two weeks in advance of the desired Cursillo and include three stamped #10 (business) envelopes, one addressed to the candidate, one to the candidate's pastor or administrator and one to yourself, for the registrar to respond. If you candidate is accepted, he/she will be sent a letter of acceptance. Please advise your candidate to dress comfortably and modestly.

Our dress code for the weekend does not permit shorts, muscle shirts, tank tops, etc. He/she should also bring nice cloths for Sunday Mass. Please see that your candidate eats supper before you come on Thursday evening. No smoking is allowed in the hall. The candidate will be allowed to smoke outside at break time. You are expected to stay for the sponsor's meeting on Thursday evening.

If your candidate has to cancel his/her reservation, please inform the registrar immediately. Please advise your candidate that on the last day of Cursillo, there will be an opportunity to make a donation. An offering of $100 is suggested, however no one will be turned away for financial reasons.
  • Inform the candidate to bring the acceptance letter with him/her to the Center on Thursday night of Cursillo.
  • Inform his/her pastor that the candidate has been accepted.
