Pentecost Walk, Picnic, & Progress: What You Need to Know This Weekend!

Come Holy Spirit, We have an incredibly joyful, busy, and holy weekend ahead of us as we celebrate Pentecost! With a lot of moving parts—and some wet weather in the forecast—please read through this update carefully so we can all walk, pray, and celebrate together in charity and safety.

🏃‍♂️ The Pentecost Walk (This Weekend)

Our annual Pentecost Walk is happening this weekend! Whether you are walking or supporting, this is a beautiful time of prayer and fellowship.

Who:

Males of all ages start the walk, but all complete it as a man.

What:

A physical and spiritual journey of 50 miles or more over 2–3 days with your Brothers in Christ while spreading the Gospel of Jesus.

Where:

Walkers are organized from all points on the compass. We have walkers that historically have walked from Franklin, New Iberia, Lake Charles, DeRidder, Texas, and Baton Rouge.

🍔 The Annual Picnic (This Sunday)

Join us this Sunday following Mass for our annual Cursillo picnic! We need an accurate headcount for the main course and want to make sure our potluck sides are covered. Please take 10 seconds to register yourself and let us know what dish you are bringing!

When: This Sunday, immediately following Mass.
Bookstore Hours: Open Sunday from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, and it will re-open right after Mass.

🚗 IMPORTANT: Weekend Parking Parameters & Weather Notice

With lots of rain forecast for this weekend, we need to be extra smart about where we put our vehicles to protect our campus and keep traffic moving smoothly.

⚠️ Critical Parking Rules For This Weekend:

NO PARKING behind the Cursillo Center.
NO PARKING inside the gated area.
USE THE CHURCH PARKING LOT.
USE THE NEW PARKING LOT: The new lot is fully ready and open for traffic!

Note on the new lot: Because of the heavy rains and the fact that the new lot is still settling, some rutting is expected. Please drive slowly, be mindful of soft spots, and look out for your brothers and sisters.

Let's show the "obedience and love" of true servants by following these parking directions and helping our hospitality team this weekend!

🚧 Campus Renewal: Restoration & Construction Updates

If you’ve been on campus lately, you know the Holy Spirit is moving! Here is the latest on our major restoration projects:

Chapel Restoration: Work is moving along beautifully as we restore the spiritual heart of our center. Thank you for your continued prayers and patience during the dust.
The Grotto & Way of the Cross: The entire area is being redressed to create a deeply prayerful, beautiful space for reflection and outdoor devotion.
The New Parking Lot: The heavy lifting is done, and the new lot is officially ready for vehicle traffic!
New Bleachers: Installed and ready for taking community pictures.
